WELFAREWelcome to the Welfare Page. As chairman of the welfare committee I am responsible for overseeing all requests from members of the public, clubs, charities or other organizations that are requesting our help or assistance. In addition we organize outings, concert trips, Christmas parcels for the housebound and other activities during the year for the needy. We hold monthly committee meetings to discuss progress of existing matters, and try to settle outstanding difficulties. New request are considered and investigated by one of the welfare committee members. A thorough checking procedure will take place. This is necessary to validate requests and remove the chance of a false or unnecessary application. At the next meeting the details collected will be sympathetically examined and generally a decision made. This will then be presented to the club members with our recommendations at the next business meeting a few days later and, if approved by the club the appropriate action will be sanctioned. If you are in need of help and would like to be considered, please do contact me by e-mail using the link at the top left of this page. This has taken many years and lots of patience from our members, so we are finally on the map.
Lions Giant Easter Egg Raffle The Lions Club of Bognor Regis organised their first Giant Easter Egg Raffle this year. In all 18 eggs were placed in pubs, newsagents, hairdressers etc. and customers were invited to choose as square. The idea was that just prior to Easter there would be a draw to determine the winner. Two eggs were donated to St Wilfred's and St Richards Hospital Children's ward and we hope this brought them good cheer over the Easter weekend. Lion Linda Wellard and Lion John Wallace (Lions event organiser) can be seen on the left of the picture. The Lions Club is very pleased with the response and would like to thank all those who took part and all those who bought a ticket for making this such a successful event. In all over £2000 has been raised for us to distribute to local causes and we look forward to doing the same next year.

Reports of the Welfare Committee
We are currently looking at ways to support some of the more needy members of our community at Christmas, and are planning our usual Christmas street collections in Bognor to raise the necessary funds. Christmas ParcelsLions members packing Christmas parcels for delivery to the needy
